  1270. into the <code>CLASSPATH</code> or place it in
  1271. <code>ANT_HOME/lib</code>.</p>
  1272. <p>Some background is necessary before we can discuss
  1273. solutions for <a href="#delegating-classloader-1.5">Ant
  1274. 1.5.x</a> and <a href="#delegating-classloader-1.6">Ant
  1275. 1.6.x</a>.</p>
  1276. <p>When you specify a nested <code>&lt;classpath&gt;</code> in
  1277. Ant, Ant creates a new class loader that uses the path you
  1278. have specified. It then tries to load additional classes from
  1279. this classloader.</p>
  1280. <p>In most cases - for example using &lt;style&gt; or
  1281. &lt;junit&gt; - Ant doesn&apos;t load the external library
  1282. directly, it is the loaded class that does so.</p>
  1283. <p>In the case of <code>&lt;junit&gt;</code> it is the task
  1284. implementation itself and in the case of
  1285. <code>&lt;style&gt;</code> it is the implementation of the
  1286. <code>org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.XSLTLiaison</code>
